Bio
Rivu Chakraborty is a principal-level mobile engineer and architect with 14+ years building and scaling consumer apps across five unicorns. He is India's first Google Developer Expert (GDE) for Kotlin and is also a GDE for Android.
He has authored multiple Kotlin books published by Packt including Reactive Programming in Kotlin, Functional Kotlin, and Hands-On Data Structures and Algorithms with Kotlin.
Rivu owns org-wide architecture, Kotlin Multiplatform strategy, and platform & release engineering at 200M+ concurrent-user scale. He builds and leads multidisciplinary frontend teams across Android, iOS, Web, and TV.
He is a mentor for Google For Startups and an active community leader. He created the Kotlin Kolkata User Group and served as lead organiser for both Kotlin Kolkata and GDG Kolkata. He co-organizes BlrKotlin, volunteers for BlrDroid, and co-organized droidcon India 2019 and DevFest Kolkata '18 & '19.
